M.A.C Review: Call Me Bubbles and Shop & Drop Eyeshadow Palettes

Hello! This is M.A.C's newest collection for Feb. 2012. M.A.C is always coming out with new products, so I don't get to collect much of their stuff, but when these x4 eyeshadow palettes came out, I knew had to grab them before they get sold out...and you should too!

Price: $38 (not bad when their individual eye shadows are $15.... 15 x 4 = $60!)

~CALL ME BUBBLES~ (more pop of color/ vibrant orange)

These colors are super pretty for spring. I would recommend this if you like to add color, or perhaps more daring.

The pigmentation is amazing, excellent quality! I love how there is a champagne color because it makes this palette more daytime wearable.

The colors show up great, especially the matte pink; I usually don't like pinks because they never show up, but this one showed up real nicely on my eye. This is truly the perfect palette for the Spring time.

~SHOP & DROP~ (soft and romantic, baby pinks and lavenders)

This palette is a little more of a romantic type of eye. Much similar to Call Me Bubbles, this has excellent pigmentation, and quality. This is much more softer on the eye.

I love the combination of the colors, and this can even be a palette for a smokey eye.

The palette includes a shimmery lavender grey (top left) eyeshadow that looks great on everyone, (and is my favorite color in the palette) and even though the purple may look a bit to bright, when it is applied it does not look to harsh or clownish.

I would recommend both of these palettes.

~Stila: In the Garden Palette Review~

So Stilla came out with their new Spring Palette! Yeah for new spring palettes! I just love when all beauty companies come out with their seasonal products, so back to this "In the Garden" palette. This palette contains 10 shades of gorgeous spring shades, and also comes with their Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner in Starfish.

Price: $39....(why don't they just say it's $40??)

Okay, so it is a tad bit expensive, but I must say the quality of this palette is very good! So this palette is a keeper.

Lets start with the eye shadows.....
I loved how the Stila's website gives a description of each eyeshadow, they claim each eyeshadow....
  • Chinois - matte creamy white
  • Breeze - shimmery beige
  • Bark - shimmery taupe
  • Freesia - shimmery violet blue
  • Rosette - metallic pink violet
  • Nectar - matte creamy beige
  • Honey - metallic bronze gold
  • Sage - shimmery translucent green
  • Moss - dark olive green with shimmer
  • Juniper - deep shimmery forest green

You may think differently, but I think these shades are amazing!
1. They compliment all eye shades and skin tones.
2. They have nice pigmentation, and last well (with eye primer)
3. I like how they have a wide range of colors: blues, greens, neutral, shimmers, and mattes.

What about the Eyeliner?

The eyeliner has a deep brown color, but there are hints of green shimmer in there, so it sets it out from the other typical brown eyeliners. Lines the eye nicely without smudging (aka raccoon eyes) and does not fade too much through out the day.

Packaging?

This palette is packages in cardboard material, so it may not be as sturdy, but it's not that big of a deal, and found the packaging cute.

Overall I would recommend this palette!

*Beautiful pigmented colors
*Looks great on all skin tones
* Eyeliner applies smoothly

~Fake Nails: The Good and Bad~

Fake nails are super fun to have: you get to pick fun designs, don't have to worry about chipping your nail polish. There are so many designs for them too: you can have Snooki nails, or go for the classic pink and white.

Fake nails can last up to 2-3 weeks, but if they are done well they can last a month! (Nail salons don't recommend it, but hey, we get lazy sometimes.) They are the perfect accessory to any outfit, and are can be pretty eye catching too with all the crazy designs out there.

But don't let all that glitz and glamour fool you these fake nails can cost you and not just in money terms. Fake nails can cost up to $40 dollars, and sometimes up to $30 for a fill, which if you like to keep your nails looking nice that's a fill every 2-3 weeks!

Okay, but enough on the money terms, fake nails can gather alot of hidden dirt underneath the tips, and a lot of bacteria. I don't know about you, but it's a little gross picking out leftover food underneath my tips especially if I am cooking with my hands! Also if you don't have the time to get a fill every 2-3 weeks, then the nails can outgrow and lift from the nail which can super annoying. Things like washing your hair become annoying when your nails hook onto your hair strands.

Also if you let them outgrow too much, they become easier to break...OUCH! I had a nail crack, and had to rip it off...while ripping part of my real nail off...yeah ouch.

So that being said, I am taking a little break from fake nails. It is also important to let your nails grow some of their strength back because fake nails can make your real nails soft and brittle.

Don't get me wrong, I <3 fake nails but just watch out for some of things that come along with them. I am not saying to never to get fake nails, because frankly, I love how they look and feel on my nails, just make sure you maintain them!
